In the
beat of the sun
The
leaves on tree swaying
In the
midst of the singing wind
I feel
the serenity of freedom
It is
within my reach, yet, I cannot seize it
Mine to
behold, but it keeps stepping backwards
Emerge
the night,
In the
darkness, the stars twinkle
The lone
beauteous moon
Freely
shining its light
Don't they know
I want to
be free, like the wind
Like the
stars and the moon
In a
world of my own
In
tranquility
I want to
be free
I want to
be me
I wrote this poem when I was 18 and it was published in the school year book. I had forgotten about it until a good friend and school mate showed it to me last year. My mate kept it for more than 30 years! I am so grateful for the thoughtfullness and that this poem was liked.
